What started as a few friends pedaling single speeds through the trails and streets of Austin has grown into more of a family than a club. A.S.S. (Austin Single Speeders) is a rowdy, tight-knit crew that’s turned a love for one-gear bikes into a thriving community.

From backyard beers to full-throttle trail sessions, we dive into how A.S.S. has evolved, proving that sometimes, less gears = more fun.

THE HILL COUNTRY COMMUNITY

At its core, A.S.S. is all about camaraderie. Rides are packed with storytelling, heckling, and plenty of good-natured suffering up Austin’s punchy climbs. Whether you’re a single-speed purist or just a curious rider looking to test your legs, you’ll find yourself welcomed with open arms (and possibly handed a shot post-ride).

THE CLUB RIDE

Since the sport of cycling’s birth in the 1800s, there have been club rides. In the beginning, these were conversational-paced rides where members met with friends, talked about family, work, and life. And in 2008, they became the inspiration for the Club Ride Apparel name.

Today we continue to celebrate the community, culture and joy of life around two wheels—our product design is driven by that philosophy. We're excited to share the stories of modern day clubs through a series of short films: Life Around Two Wheels.
