The Mountain Surf is a stretch woven short, so it's durable first and foremost. We designed the fabric light enough that it breathes like Neil Peart after a set of Red Barchetta. Bottom line the short works amazing for what it's intended for, which is riding bikes on amazing single track in the high country of Colorado to the flow of Brown County, Indiana. Is that not enough?  Heck no. Club Ride makes clothing For the Ride and Everything After, so jump in the Deschutes River after your ride Phils, hang by the city pool with the kids,  mow your lawn once this summer all in the Mtn Surf.
The short is all about maximum function. We accomplish this with great fit and some of the best lightweight stretch fabric on the planet, design inside zip pockets, add internal adjustments and gusset.

Great Fit and Good Lookin'

As a 5'6" guy, it's hard to find mt bike shorts that don't come down below my knees. These don't look stupid and are my second pair - they're great.

Look great and comfortable

These don't look like biking shorts. You can wear them anywhere. Great hidden pockets as well as regular pockets. The flex and stretch as needed. I have worn them for many hours with no issues.

These pants don't make my ass look fat...

These pants are really comfortable and seem pretty durable. They make me look like a superstar mountain biker. I will buy more of them, unless Club Ride wants to give some to me because I look like a superstar mountain biker in their shorts. They go well with the cool CR button up shirts too.

Fit Comments: I am right on the edge in terms of fit. If I gain a few pounds, these would be too snug. If I lose a few pounds, the fit might be even better.

Great style and just enough stretch

These are really nice looking shorts. They have some give but are not highly elastic (they don't stretch a great deal). I thought they might be a little more elastic, but it's probably best that they are not, as too much stretch can sometimes leave a pair of shorts quite saggy after logging quite a few miles. I like these for casual social rides of 25 miles or less. For longer or faster rides I wear bib shorts. I will say that at 6' tall, 36" waist, and 195 lbs, I am right on the edge with a size Large in these shorts. They do fit, but if I gain 3 lbs they probably would be a bit too snug and if I lost 3-5 lbs they might fit even better. Hopefully this info will be helpful to someone who is trying to decide between a large and x-large.

Awesome short

I’m 5’7”, 145, slim build. The 31” waist fits perfectly. Primary use is for mountain and gravel biking but I wear these everywhere. I don’t know why more biking shorts don’t have back pockets.
